Jim Larrañaga retires, effective immediately

Miami basketball coach, Jim Larrañaga, retired at a press conference Thursday. The main reason for the rather abrupt decision was due to the transfer portal and the shifting landscape of NIL. Larrañaga, age 75, just became exhausted. Coach L leaves Miami as the winningest coach in program history, taking the team to 4 Sweet 16's and a Final Four. Before Miami, he took George Mason to the Final Four in 2006. A true cinderella run that will never be forgotten.

Miami is currently 4-8 on the season, which is wildly underwhelming considering the talent on the roster. Assistant coach Bill Courtney will be the interim coach for the rest of the season. Now, the focus turns to who might be available to take the job permanently. The location and resources are there to attract some of the biggest names in the sport.
